Galaxy S20 caught on video for the first time

The Samsung Galaxy S20 has been the subject of many leaks lately, and the river of rumors has not yet dried up New photos and videos of various angles of the device have been released, and they are (almost) causing excitement

The source of these leaks is Max Weinbach of XDA Developers, who has already been posting leaks about the S20 that look credible for some time In the video (which can be viewed below), we get our first real look at what appears to be an S20

The first thing we see in the video is the actual appearance of the new phone The front follows the design of the Galaxy Note 10, with the selfie camera positioned in the center The back, on the other hand, has a rectangular camera bump design and looks like the new Galaxy Note 10 Lite or Galaxy S10 Lite

Also revealed is the display resolution of the S20 series: 3200 x 1440, which is a Quad HD screen with a 20:9 aspect ratio This apparently applies to all three S20 models, with the standard, S20 Plus, and S20 Ultra screen sizes being 64", 67", and 69", respectively

These numbers also refer to very tall and thin phones (compare the S20 and S10 in the image below), which should mean they are easier to hold and use than wider-bodied phones

XDA Developers was also able to confirm that this display supports a 120Hz refresh rate, but also confirmed that the screen does not display at full resolution in 120Hz mode This is based on a message in the configuration app code that appears when the user tries to select both 120Hz refresh rate and QHD, explaining that this combination is not possible

This could be the S20's Achilles heel, depending on what rival manufacturers, especially OnePlus and its own 120Hz display, plan for its 2020 release Then again, everyday users may not notice any difference in use

Underneath that display will be another ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, as seen on the 2019 Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 series This is only certain for the S20 Plus model, but it is likely that other phones in the series will use the same fingerprint unlocking method

Bad news for fans of the headphone jack The disappearance of the beloved 35mm port from the S20 Plus is an ominous sign for the other two phones in the S20 lineup If you need USB-C headphones before investing in wireless headphones, a 25W fast charger is also included

Finally, there's the specs information The S20 Plus used in these leaks had 12GB RAM, 128GB storage, a Snapdragon 865 CPU, and a 4,500 mAh battery None of this is a surprise to anyone following the leaks, but it is good to see that the mid-range models in this new series have internal components worthy of a 2020 flagship model

Samsung's launch event, rumored to be held in February, is less than a month away, where news of this model and the company's new foldable, Galaxy Z Flip are expected to be announced For the latest news and leaks, you can find everything you need to know on the Galaxy S20 rumors page
