Samsung is developing a successor to the Galaxy Watch, which could be announced as early as next month, and a serial number suspected to be that of the Galaxy Watch 2 has surfaced online
The Galaxy Club has stated that it is confident in the existence of a watch with the model number SM-R840 This is comparable to previous Samsung smartwatch labels, such as the SM-R800 belonging to Samsung's Galaxy Watch, which was released in August 2018
Last year, Samsung briefly introduced both the Galaxy Watch Active and the Galaxy Watch Active 2 The first sporty wearable debuted with the Galaxy S10, while the second iteration appeared next to the Galaxy Note 10 The standard Galaxy Watch, on the other hand, did not see a successor in 2019
What is new about this model, presumably dubbed the Galaxy Watch 2, is a mystery; the only specs reported by Galaxy Club about the SM-R840 smartwatch are a rated battery capacity of 330 mAH The four-day battery life was a selling point for the original Galaxy Watch, so it is likely that the next model will have similar stamina
The Galaxy Watch 2 should also feature Active 2 upgrades, including more customization options, Bixby Voice enhancements, and Samsung Health new features
Galaxy Club says the "likelihood" that Samsung will unveil a new Galaxy smartwatch at the February 11 event along with the Galaxy S20 is "small It could be set for a summer release, or Samsung could be waiting to unveil it at the same time as the upcoming Galaxy Note
