Apple Watch Rival: The Oppo smartwatch looks great with Wear OS and 3D glass

iOS users may be eagerly awaiting the Apple Watch Series 6. Samsung's Galaxy Watch Active 2, Fossil's hybrid, FitBit Versa, or Huawei GT2.

Oppo has thrown its hat into the ring with its own Oppo smartwatch. However, a new image recently released online shows the watch's menu screen running what appears to be Google's Wear OS.

In the image (above), the settings menu screen of Oppo's smartwatch with curved glass can be seen.Yiren Shen, Oppo's vice president, has previously stated that curved 3D glass is a "game changer" for smartwatches. 3D and 2. 5D curved glass has been used in smartphones before, but it is rare to see it used in a device of this size.

The finish is excellent. In what is sure to be an affordable smartwatch, the 3D glass creates a smooth, luxurious effect; the first image released by Oppo (below) shows the watch in both black and white coloring, including the strap; Oppo's smartwatch is, breaking away from being a complete clone of the Apple Watch, eschewing the twist on the crown in favor of two side-on buttons instead.

Honestly, can you blame Oppo for copying Apple's design choices at this point, as the Apple Watch dominates the market and the large, rounded square has become the iconic shape of the smartwatch. If Oppo is trying to create an affordable Android smartwatch, it would be wise to mimic one of the most successful designs on the market. Indeed, at first glance, it could be confused with the Apple Watch.

However, there is a slight discrepancy in the source of the image. While many in the tech industry are treating the image as official, news media outlet Slashgear is not convinced. It says the image, which was published on the Chinese social media site Weibo, may have been created as a concept by a third-party rendering artist. So far, Oppo has remained silent on the matter.

If the image is not official, it may not feature Google's Wear OS, which has not yet been confirmed; Oppo devices are rare in the U.S. Chinese telecom companies may have access to Google products, but Huawei (an international China's largest well-known branded telecom company that operates internationally) no longer has that privilege.

However, Oppo's existing smartphones run Android, so unless the situation changes between now and launch, and unless Google extends its ban from Huawei to more Chinese telecom groups, there is no reason why Oppo cannot use Wear OS There is no.

Will this Apple Watch look-alike device help Oppo's devices gain a broader share of the market? It will be interesting to see.
