PS5 continues Sony's focus on killer single-player monopoly

The PS5 appears to continue Sony's plan from the PS4 era: the pursuit of single-player games with a strong focus on story. And we couldn't be happier.

The news comes from an interview conducted by the PlayStation Blog (via GamesRadar) with Hermen Hulst, head of Sony Interactive Entertainment Worldwide Studios, in which Hulst previously spoke about his company's plans for the "Killzone" series and "Horizon." Killzone" series and "Horizon Zero Dawn," so he knows a thing or two about single-player games.

He spoke on the PlayStation Blog about the future direction of Sony's current 14 first-party developers, which he manages as chief of worldwide studios.

"We are very committed to dedicated hardware, as we always have been. We will continue to do so. And we are committed to quality exclusive titles. And we are committed to strong narrative-driven single-player games."

He went on to say that this does not mean that the experience will become stale. At the same time, he said, "we want to be very open to experimentation and new ideas. We try things out to see what works. I think that's part of the DNA of Worldwide Studios."

The quality of big one-player PlayStation 4 titles like "God of War" (2018) and "Bloodborne" and upcoming games like "The Last of Us Part II" and "Ghost of Tsushima" surrounding Given the excitement, PlayStation fans will be very happy to see this trend continue for the next few years.
