The smallest size of the iPhone 12 is no longer just a rumor, thanks to two companies partnering to produce displays for the new model
This is according to a report from DigiTimes (via MacRumors) that two display manufacturers, BOE Technology and General Interface Solutions, have touchscreen for the 54-inch iPhone to be released in 2020
DigiTimes reports that sample displays from both companies are already in Apple's hands, with the intention of starting production in late 2020
Previous rumors pointed to a total of four iPhone 12 models: this 54-inch model (which would be the smallest iPhone since the 47-inch iPhone 8), two 61-inch models (one regular and one Pro), and a 67-inch iPhone 12 Pro It was noted
All new iPhone 12 devices will use OLED panels like the current iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, which are the same size as the iPhone 11 and 2018 iPhone XR, but the 61-inch model will mean that they will not use Apple's existing LCD displays Some models are also expected to feature a 120 Hz refresh rate like Samsung's Galaxy S20 series
Other features said to be included in the iPhone 12 include a time-of-flight depth sensor for Pro models, 5G support on at least some models, and a new A14 Bionic CPU, which early benchmarks indicate may make the iPhone 12 faster than any Android phone and may be considerably faster than any Android phone
Because of the coronavirus outbreak, Apple may decide to delay the iPhone 12's expected September launch However, it is clear that whenever the iPhone 12 debuts, there will be a size to fit everyone
