Currently, Facebook is offering a $50 discount on all Portals, Portal Plus, and Portal Mini. After the discount, prices start at just $79 for the Portal Mini. If you purchase two devices, you get a $100 discount on your entire purchase. This is a great way to stay in touch with your mom, not just on Mother's Day, but any day of the week. Portal is a social networking smart display that can be placed anywhere in the house for video calls, and comes in a variety of screen sizes, from the 8-inch Portal Mini to the 15.6-inch Portal Plus. All have Alexa built in, so in addition to making video calls, users can also use the Portal smart display to listen to their favorite playlists, watch the news, and learn about the local weather.

In our review of the Portal, we were impressed with the device's excellent video and sound quality. We also like that the Portal's smart camera intuitively follows you around the room, and the smart sound feature emphasizes the voice of the person speaking.

Keep in mind that Facebook's privacy track record is not the best. However, Facebook assures us that the portals do not track individuals' faces or record or use the content of their calls.
