Assassin's Creed 2020reveal: How to Watch Live Now

A few years after "Assassin's Creed Odyssey," fans are ready to dive back into the Animus. Without much warning, Ubisoft has decided to host a Twitch stream today (April 29) between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. (1 p.m. and 9 p.m. for UK fans). The stream will feature popular graphic artist BossLogic, who will tease the next installment of Assassin's Creed. In addition, viewers will be able to get several digital rewards simply by tuning in.

First, those wishing to watch the stream can do so on Ubisoft's official "Assassin's Creed" channel. The stream does not include game footage, but does include footage of BossLogic creating complex game art in real time using a digital graphic design program. At the time of this writing, there are shadowy figures in the foreground, and the background is divided between a medieval European castle and lapping waves.

Some gamers have speculated that the next installment of Assassin's Creed will focus on the Vikings, allowing players to spend more time on land missions and naval battles. This stream lends credence to that idea.

If you just want to watch the stream, tune in and watch to your heart's content. If you miss it, Ubisoft usually archives videos, so you should be able to watch this stream later; it's called "Assassin's Creed: Teaser | LIVE with BossLogic," so do a search.

However, if you want to earn rewards, the process is a bit more complicated (emphasis added slightly). Like many Twitch channels, Ubisoft will randomly reward users who watch for a certain amount of time. That reward is something like an in-game item from the new "Assassin's Creed," but it is too early to guess what it is or when players will be able to receive it.

To be in with a chance of winning, you must channel the stream and watch for up to 2.5 hours. If you win, you will be notified by Twitch within a few days.

If you want the item, you will need to make sure your Twitch account is linked to your Uplay account; Twitch will alert you to link them with a pop-up notification when you are watching an Assassin's Creed stream All you have to do is log into your Uplay account and allow access to Twitch. The process is not complicated and takes less than a minute if you remember your username and password.

If you really can't wait to continue Assassin's Creed, you can get Assassin's Creed Odyssey on PC, PS4, Xbox One, or Stadia. The game is just enormous, especially since Ubisoft has added various free and paid DLC packs. If you start the game now, you'll probably be busy playing it until the next "Assassin's Creed" series is released--assuming you target an October release date, as Ubisoft usually does with this series.
