The debut of the Apple Watch 6 is still months away, but that hasn't stopped information about Apple's next wearable from surfacing online
The latest Apple Watch 6 leak comes to us from YouTuber Nikias Molina, who teased early yesterday (April 30) that he has "a few things" to share about the new watch; Molina continues, sleep tracking, pulse oximeter, longer battery life, and mental health sensors, among other features to expect from the Apple Watch 6 and its S6 chip
Molina says their leaks are exclusive, but we actually learned about many of these features from more reputable analysts like Jon Prosser and EverythingApplePro
The mores about battery life are noticeable, though We have yet to hear anything about Apple's plans to extend the life of its smartwatch by many hours; as we noted in our review of the Apple Watch 5, the 18-hour battery life is a bit disappointing compared to the battery life of competitors
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 2, which may be released with the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 at the same time as the Apple Watch 6 and iPhone 12, is rumored to have a larger battery Already capable of four days of use on a single charge, Apple may be ready to catch up
As for sleep tracking and pulse oximetry, a beta version of watchOS 7 was released in late March, revealing that the Apple Watch will finally include sleep monitoring and blood oxygen monitoring this year
Blood oxygen monitoring, also known as SPO2 monitoring, measures oxygen saturation in the blood The pulse oximeter is compatible with the Apple Watch 6's SPO2 monitoring, which notifies the user when blood oxygen falls below a certain level
Pulse oximetry is widely used to detect abnormal breathing during sleep, but when tracked closely, it can identify forms of pneumonia, including asymptomatic hypoxia In other words, it can save lives
And so can certain mental health tools Leaked information a few weeks ago suggested that the Apple Watch 6 could alert users about stress levels and impending panic attacks
Knowing that one is on the verge of a panic attack might increase anxiety, but the information could help people manage their stress This feature appears to be embodied in a more proactive version of the Apple Watch's "breathe" buddy notification
Molina's leak also noted that the Apple Watch 6 would feature Apple's S6 chip However, the rest of their information is consistent with the recent swell of Apple Watch rumors
