Rumors of the highly anticipated Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones are flying and it appears that the new flagship can is just days away from release
As per the now-deleted Dell listing found by The Walkman Blog, the Sony WH-1000X4 will be available on June 23, priced at C$499 (which equates to roughly US$369) This appears to be roughly in line with the Sony WH-1000XM3's suggested retail price of $349, but it appears that the can may be priced a bit higher
And that potentially higher price could be justified by some of the major upgrades in the WH-1000XM4 The new headphones are expected to include a "smart talking" feature that automatically captures ambient noise when someone's voice is detected, which could make it easier to have a conversation when using these headphones Similarly, it may be possible to automatically adjust the ambient noise settings based on location, such as when you are on a busy street or in a quiet coffee shop
Other expected features include DSEE Extreme for high-end upscaling and the ability to pair with two different devices and switch between them seamlessly and freely Combine this with the XM3's superior sound quality, excellent noise cancellation, and long battery life of 30 hours, and the WH-1000XM4 could well take the title of best headphone over the Bose 700
But some competition awaits before it gets there Apple is rumored to unveil its AirPods Studio headphones as early as June 22 at WWDC The headphones are expected to cost around $350 and could include advanced features such as automatically pausing playback based on head and neck detection and custom EQ to adjust the sound to your liking
With two headphone behemoths potentially launching this month, now seems like a better time than ever for those ready to upgrade their portable audio setups about WH-1000XM4 and AirPods Studio should be revealed in the next few weeks, so stay tuned for more information
