As NBA 2K21 was revealed at the PS5's June 11 event, the PS5 is bringing a sports game to the PS5; the NBA has had to suspend its season in real life due to public health concerns, but NBA 2K21, which will be released with the PS5, has no such limitationsNBA 2K21 will allow players to lead their favorite teams to victory in a simulation of the NBA's 2021 season, with realistic graphics, quick load times, and immersive 3D audio
Like most of the other games revealed at the PS5 Showcase on June 11, there is still a vast amount of information about NBA 2K21 However, we do know that the New Orleans Pelicans and one of the team's players, Zion Williamson, will be in the game And for many sports fans, that alone should be a promising start
Williamson introduced the trailer for the game, embedded below:
What we saw was pretty standard NBA 2K gameplay It simulates a season of games between real NBA teams, played with real players Williamson was one of the available players, and we would see almost all of the other players playing in the 2021 season In fact, if the 2021 NBA season is subject to the same limitations as the 2020 season, NBA 2K21 could be the most satisfying basketball experience fans will have all year
We also know the game's release date: fall 2020, which suggests that NBA 2K21 will be released on other systems before the PS5 itself launches a bit later (holiday 2020) on Sony's next-generation consoles But if you decide to hold out until the end of the year, it is theoretically possible to play the game with PS5-specific enhancements, such as faster load times, improved resolution, and faster frame rates It depends on how fast you want to see the basketball action
Beyond that, we'll have to wait and see what lies ahead for NBA 2K21 Fans and critics alike have politely accepted NBA 2K20, calling it a good sports distraction, but not necessarily a can't-miss masterpiece in the genre Perhaps NBA 2K21 will be similar If it is at least that good, it should be a good representation of what the PS5 can do when it comes to sports games
