Last year, Apple Card introduced an interest-free monthly payment plan for customers who used it to purchase a new iPhone Now, Apple Card customers can get 0% interest financing on purchases of Macs, iPads, AirPods, Apple TVs, HomePods, and some accessories and related products
During Apple's April 30 earnings call, CEO Tim Cook announced that the Apple Card interest-free monthly payment plan will be extended to non-iPhone products The new financing options (available in the US only) vary by product and offer shorter terms than the iPhone plan
The Mac and iPad have 12-month payment plans with 0% APR, while the AirPods, Apple TV, and HomePod have 6-month payment plans In other words, a $249 AirPods with an Apple card would cost $4150 per month for 6 months (excluding tax); a 16-inch MacBook Pro would cost as low as $19991 per month for 12 months
To take advantage of the 0% interest rate financing, you must have an Apple Card Then, when shopping at the Apple Online Store, select the Apple Card monthly installment at checkout
Some related accessories are also eligible for financing Eligible Mac-related accessories include the Pro Display XDR, Pro Stand, VESA Mount Adapter Kit for iMac Pro, Apple Afterburner Card, and leather sleeves for MacBook Air and MacBook Pro Eligible iPad accessories include Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro, Apple Pencil, Smart Keyboard Folio for iPad Pro, Smart Keyboard for iPad and iPad Air, Smart Folios and covers for iPad Pro and iPad
Apple Watch and iPod Touch are not available for financing at this time
Apple Card users will earn the standard 3% Daily Cash on Apple purchases in addition to interest-free payments
Apple clearly wants more customers to join the Apple Card Also, despite the coronavirus recession and continuing unemployment across the US, the new financing options could boost Apple's sales volume
Apple also announced a graduation/return to school campaign for students Starting today, customers who purchase a Mac or iPad from Apple's Education Store can get AirPods for free
