A companion app for Apple AirTags has leaked online, revealing how Apple will change the style and functionality of the tracking tags it will eventually launch

AirTags has long been rumored as Apple's rival to Tile and other tracking tags In addition to performing the standard function of displaying the tag's location in the companion app, Apple hopes to make it easier for users to find lost items through an AR lens mode and the option for others to find and return lost tags
The companion app is what we see in this leaked image, with menu options to set tags, display owner information, switch to AR view, and play sounds to find tags
These sounds were leaked earlier this year (2 minutes and 3 seconds into the video below) and feature a variety of ping sounds to help locate lost items as well as signify successful connection or disconnection
The feature will be officially announced during the WWDC 2020 keynote on June 22 This is when Apple will announce all software and operating system updates with all developers present (although only virtually this year)
However, since past WWDC events have included hardware announcements, it is not out of the realm of possibility that Air Tags will make an appearance here If they do not appear, then the next most likely to appear will be the iPhone 12, which will be announced around September or October
