Netflix is finally fixing a frustrating habit in the user experience The streaming service is rolling out an update that will allow users to remove titles from the "Continue Watching" row on the app's home screen
The "Continue Watching" row is one of the more prominent sections of the Netflix home screen It is a convenient way to resume watching a show or movie from where you left off However, if a user had listened to a program for a few minutes and did not like it, it remained in the "Continue Watching" section for the remainder of the show
With this new fix, Netflix users can now delete those titles, as reported by The Verge The update is effective on Android mobile devices (phones and tablets) in the US and will be rolled out to iOS devices on June 29
Netflix has also made episodes, information, and ratings more accessible Tapping on a title will pop up a menu with these options, plus Remove From Row
Don't get us wrong: we love Netflix, so much so that it won Tom's Guide magazine's Best Streaming Service award But having more control over our "keep watching" queue is a big plus Now I can delete the boring dramas I couldn't finish or the crappy reality shows I don't want anyone to know I started watching
However, deleting a title from "Continue Watching" does not erase the progress, so you can return to that boring drama or crappy reality show later All you have to do is search
As mentioned, this update is currently only available on the Android mobile app We tested it on an Android tablet, and it works great, but it's not available on the mobile app To remove a title from Continue Watching:
1 Open the Netflix app and scroll down to the "Continue Watching" row
2 In any title, tap the icon with three dots
3 In the menu that pops up, tap Remove from row
4 the title will be removed from the row
