PS5DualSense Controller looks massive with new Leaked images

Sony's new DualSense controller for the upcoming PS5 may be significantly chunkier than the previous DualShock controller.

This image, courtesy of a user calling himself Lant_War, was posted on the Resetera gaming forum site and shows Sony's new controller being placed on a human hand. It is unclear where this photo came from, but it seems quite legitimate.

It's hard to tell from the angle of the photo, but the DualSense controller definitely looks much thicker and larger than the PS4 DualShock controller, which was a high bar for Sony game controllers.

Depending on how you feel about the DualShock 4, the thicker controller may benefit those with larger hands, or it may be a little too chunky for some.

However, the DualSense controller does not look as comically large as the "Duke" controller that came with the original Xbox. The controller was so chunky that Microsoft decided to release a smaller version, which became the standard for special editions of the original Xbox and the template for the excellent Xbox wireless controllers of today.

The DualSense controller was expected to have some interesting features that would take console controllers into the next generation, such as enhanced tactile feedback so that you could feel the tension of a bowstring being pulled while gaming. However, its odd two-tone color scheme and design that falls somewhere between the DualShock 4 and the Xbox Wireless Controller, as well as the PS5's body design, have somewhat divided opinion.

However, in the leaked photos, the DualSense controller looks reasonably attractive, and the two-tone finish does not look as incongruous as we had expected. However, we'll reserve judgment until we get a chance to try out this controller and the PS5 later in the year.
