Even before its official debut this week, OnePlus fans were scratching their heads over how to get their hands on the OnePlus Nord, and now that OnePlus' new mid-range phone is out, there is good news and bad news.

First the good news: the OnePlus Nord packs everything we want in a mid-tier phone. It balances premium features with an ultra-low price point that should make competitors weak in the knees.

Unfortunately, the OnePlus Nord will only be available in the UK, Europe, India, Hong Kong, and Malaysia. Furthermore, the phone will not go on sale until August 4.

The base model of the OnePlus Nord will cost £379 in the UK, €399 in Europe, and ₹24,999 in India. In total, it will be available in 27 European countries. Currently, the OnePlus Nord is not available in the United States. However, in an interview with Tom's Guide, Tuomas Lampen, head of European strategy for OnePlus, said Europe and India will be test runs to gauge demand for the OnePlus Nord. If it makes sense for the company to bring the OnePlus Nord to the US, it could debut in the US.

Our hands-on with the OnePlus Nord showed that the phone looks and feels like a premium smartphone; compared to the iPhone SE's 4.7-inch LCD display, the OnePlus Nord's 6.44-inch display is stunning.

The Snapdragon 765G CPU won't beat Apple's A13 chip, nor will it beat an Android phone with the Snapdragon 865, but it should provide more than enough horsepower for everyday tasks and gaming. 8GB of RAM (all standard on all models) should also help make this phone snappy and fast.
