The trailer begins with the origami Princess Peach encouraging Mario to "fold and be reborn," and it gets weird from there. Mario fights a variety of papercraft enemies, including one that can be folded and refolded on the fly to transform into an entirely different creature. There are several large areas of this world that can be explored, and there are likely to be many new and recurring lines of Mario characters.

An interesting part of the trailer is the final scene where Mario puts on Samus Aran's helmet and punches an invisible enemy. This could be just a joke for Nintendo fans, but it could also suggest that Nintendo is finally ready to announce a new Metroid game. We will know for sure in a few months.

Paper Mario has been around since 1999, but fans generally prefer the earlier games to the later ones.
