A Reddit user named viper_on_fire posted a video clip of himself holding the controller and noted that the DualSense lasts 3-4 hours longer than the DualShock 4, as PS4 controllers typically last 4-5 hours of gaming, If the durability of the DualSense controller improves, battery life could be almost double that of the previous model.

We do not necessarily recommend playing games for 7-8 hours straight, as it is good to take breaks and rehydrate. But the fact that you won't have to reach for another controller or plug in a USB cable means that the PS5 and its dual-sense controller may improve your quality of life more than the previous model.

The DualSense controller is much larger than the DualShock 4, allowing Sony to fit a larger battery pack in the chassis. However, optimization through improved energy efficiency could also be considered. The lack of a large light bar on the side of the controller could also help the DualSense controller consume less battery power than its predecessor.
