Suicide Squad: Killing Justice League Trailer, Release Date, Cast and Gameplay

Suicide Squad: Take on the Justice League! is a bold new DC Comics adventure from the developers of the "Batman: Arkham" series. This time around, the main objective is to take control of villains like Harley Quinn and Deadshot and kill Superman. No pressure.

The game has been the subject of industry rumors for some time, but was officially confirmed earlier this month. And the game's cinematic trailer gives a good look at what looks to be one of Rocksteady's strongest superhero titles.

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League is scheduled for release in 2022 for PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. No specific release date has been set yet, but it looks like we will have to wait a few years before taking the fight to Superman.

The trailer for Justice League. A war-torn Metropolis appears to be occupied by Brainiac's forces, which the Suicide Squad (Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, and King Shark) are fighting off. After a cinematic action scene, it is broadly revealed that Superman is actually the main villain of the game.

Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League is billed as a "genre-defying action-adventure shooter" set in the open-world Metropolis. The game can be played solo or with up to four players in online co-op, and from the debut trailer, it appears that Harley, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark each have unique combat abilities that can be combined.

Given that the game is a Rocksteady Studios production, we expect to see an evolution of the tight melee combat that made the Arkham games so successful. It will also feature customizable weapons and upgradeable skills, but it is unclear if it will be a true online RPG like WB's other major superhero game, Gotham Knights.

The four playable characters in Justice League are Harley Quinn (aka Dr. Harleen Quinzel), Deadshot (aka Floyd Lawton), Captain Boomerang (aka Digger Harkness), and King Shark (aka Nanae). Amanda Waller, task force leader of the Suicide Squad, also makes an appearance, as does Superman and probably most of the Justice League.

We are still awaiting confirmation on the game's primary voice actors. Harley Quinn is voiced by Arlene Sorkin and Tara Strong in the Arkham series, so it is possible that one of these two will reappear.

Kill the Justice League is about the Suicide Squad (this time consisting of Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang, and King Shark) who "save the Earth and kill the Justice League, the greatest DC superheroes in the world. This is an original DC story that sets the audience on an "impossible mission" to "save the world. To make things even more difficult, the Suicide Squad has a deadly explosive device implanted in their heads that will explode if they do not complete their mission.

As to why the Suicide Squad fights the Justice League (and why Superman appears to be possessed) remains to be seen. The game is also set in the world of Batman: Arkham, so we could see a crossover with Bruce Wayne and crew.

And who are the Suicide Squad? Well, think of it as what happens when a bunch of villains who didn't get their turn as a top-notch gangster band together for a higher profile.

In recent years, the Suicide Squad's ranks have included Harley Quinn, Deadshot, El Diablo, and Captain Boomerang. They were not assembled for criminal activity, unless you call aiding a government organization in carrying out a tough mission a "criminal act." Who are we to judge?

You may remember the Suicide Squad movie that came out in 2016. We chose to forget it. The upcoming "Suicide Squad," directed by James Gunn, features a Murder Row-level cast, including Margot Robbie, Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Nathan Fillion, Pete Davidson, Peter Capaldi, Taika Waititi . Hopefully, this new game is tied to that movie.

In any case, the game's title and content suggest that you will be taking on the role of various Suicide Squad members and spending your time on the open streets of Gotham and other DC neighborhoods, hunting members of the Justice League.
