OnePlus Clover is coming to the US — at a surprisingly cheap price

OnePlus appears to be developing a new phone called the OnePlus Clover, which will be a new very inexpensive device available worldwide.

The Clover is said to cost just $200, half the price of the iPhone SE, and the rumored specs seem pretty impressive: a large 6.5-inch display, a monster 6,000 mAh battery, and three rear cameras.

The leak comes from AndroidCentral, citing unnamed sources. The screen will apparently be a 6.52" HD+ display, which dwarfs the iPhone SE's 4.7" LCD and the Google Pixel 4a's 5.8" screen.

We won't see the 90Hz refresh rate found on the mid-range OnePlus Nord, but this is an expected trade-off.

The Clover will reportedly have three cameras: 13MP, 2MP, and 2MP, while the iPhone SE and Pixel 4a have one. It will also have a fingerprint sensor on the back for unlocking the phone, which will be placed in a less expensive location than under the display.

However, the chipset reveals that this is a budget device: a low-power Snapdragon 460 with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage; the A13 Bionic in the iPhone SE and the Snapdragon in the Pixel 4a 730, the Clover is not likely to top the benchmark leaderboard. However, if more capacity is needed, a microSD slot is available.

The battery is a massive 6,000 mAh and appears to charge in 18W blocks; compare this to the iPhone SE's 1,821 mAh battery and the Pixel 4a's 3,140 pack mAh battery.

The Clover will have a 3.5mm headphone jack and the OS is said to be OxygenOS 10, the OnePlus version of Android 10, like the Nord and OnePlus 8 series.

The most notable aspect of the OnePlus Cover leak is the price: estimated at $200, it will be sold worldwide, including the U.S., in the very near future. since the Nord is not sold in the U.S., only in Europe and India, availability is especially worth noting.

The upcoming launch is also interesting because another OnePlus flagship model is expected to appear this year in the form of the OnePlus 8T. This model is expected to arrive around October, powered by the Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset, with other minor improvements to the original OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro.

This may not be the only entirely new OnePlus device we see; OnePlus is also working on a phone with the Snapdragon 6 series chipset, which is more powerful than these rumored Clover specs, but less powerful than the Nord and OnePlus 8 series, but would be inferior to the OnePlus 8 series. Perhaps this could be another phone in the Nord series named "Aurora."
