A "light" model rumored to be added to the Samsung Galaxy S20 lineup, the Samsung Galaxy S20 Fan Edition (FE), has appeared in retail databases revealing possible pricing and color options
According to screenshots spotted and shared by DealnTech, at least six Galaxy S20 FE models are underway with a price tag of $1,14865 Canadian All of these priced models translate to about US$ 879 and come with 5G support and 128GB of storage
The difference between each of these supposed Galaxy S20 FE models is the color The new Samsung phones appear to be available in navy, lavender, sky green, red, white, and orange
These retail database listings also corroborate the leaked Galaxy S20 FE renderings shared by Evan Blass earlier this month
While these color options seem likely, we're less convinced by its listed price Or, at least, that it would convert equally from Canadian dollars to US ones
An earlier report from Korean-based tech blog The Elec put the Galaxy S20 FE at $750 This price seems a bit reasonable since it is $250 less than the standard Galaxy S20 and within range of competitors like the $699 OnePlus 8 and the rumored $699 iPhone 12 base model
That said, we would be a bit disappointed if the Galaxy S20 FE were to cost close to $900 The point of Samsung's fan editions and light lines should be to make the flagship's features more accessible, not to lower the price just a bit
It doesn't have to be $399 like the iPhone SE or $349 like the Google Pixel 4a - Samsung already has many devices in this price range - but a more competitive starting cost would make the S20 FE more attractive
According to The Elec the Galaxy S20 FE's price and specs will be confirmed at its possible launch in October The new model is expected to feature 6GB or 8GB of RAM, a 4,500mAh battery, and a 65-inch display This display may support a 120 Hz refresh rate
