Ps5's PS Plus Collection Reveals - Comparison with Xbox Game Pass

The PlayStation Plus collection was one of many news announcements Sony made at yesterday's PS5 event, and despite other exciting news, it remains an interesting one.

Part of the existing PS Plus subscription service, the collection will allow users to download a number of popular PS4 games. It is very similar to Xbox's Game Pass, a more established service that has been successful during the Xbox One's lifecycle:

Looking over these, PS 4 exclusive titles, as well as the biggest cross-platform titles of the last generation, such as "Fallout 4" and "Resident Evil 7".

This list of 18 games is a bit short compared to the hundreds available on Game Pass. Sony has promised to add to this list when the PS5 is released, but it may be some time before it becomes a competitor to Game Pass.

Also, the PS5 will be very limited in how it can be played. Game Pass allows play on Xbox consoles, PCs, and some Android devices; the PS Plus collection, as far as is known at this time, will only work through downloads to PS5.

The PS5 is available for pre-order now, but will arrive in stores on November 12, with the PS5's most notable features being a new tactile-focused DualSense controller, 3D audio capabilities, ray tracing capabilities, and enhanced game play with SSD. The latter two features are shared with the Xbox Series X
