The day we've been waiting for is about to arrive. After months of rumors, it appears that we finally have a date for Apple's iPhone 12 event and a start date for ordering.

According to AppleInsider, which was contacted by someone working for the Dutch carrier, the iPhone 12 will be released on Tuesday, October 13. This is consistent with several previous reports we have seen, including a leak from Front Page Tech host and Apple analyst Jon Prosser in early August.

Additionally, Jon Prosser has tweeted that the iPhone 12 event date is October 13 and the iPhone 12 release date is October 23.

According to the same source, iPhone 12 pre-orders will begin on Friday, October 16; an earlier leak by Evan Blass indicated that pre-orders would end on October 23, based on what was allegedly a carrier promo. This would be one week after the start of reservations, so this latest rumor seems credible.

Jon Prosser leaked on Twitter in early August that the iPhone 12 event will take place the week of October 12 and the device will ship the week of October 19. Prosser tweeted again on September 23, stating that he believes the iPhone 12 event will take place on October 13, pre-orders will open on October 16, and the iPhone 12 will be released on October 23.

Another new leak from MacRumors reveals that UK wireless carrier EE is preparing for the launch of the 5G iPhone 12. Marc Allegra, CEO of British Telecom, said during a presentation to employees that the new iPhone would be available "in the next few days."

Apparently, Eddy Cue, Apple's SVP of Internet Software & Services, made a cameo appearance during this presentation. He reportedly congratulated EE for becoming the first carrier to offer plans bundled with Apple services. Perhaps now that Apple has launched its Apple One bundled service, other carriers will follow suit.

The iPhone 12 will be Apple's biggest iPhone launch in years. The company is expected to unveil four new iPhone 12 models, including a 5.4-inch device that may be called the iPhone 12 mini. The 6.1-inch iPhone 12, 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro, and 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max will also be announced.

The non-Pro iPhones should feature Apple's new A14 Bionic processor, OLED display, and 5G connectivity, but recent rumors suggest that the smallest new iPhone may offer a less powerful B14 chip. The two regular iPhone 12 models should feature dual rear cameras.
