Google Pixel5 is leaking with a new green tint - and it looks stunning

If you were hoping to get a fresh look at Google's new Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G, which will be announced next week, look away. Because leaked images of the phones are starting to fly fast and furious.

The latest Pixel leak comes from a fairly reputable source. Evan Blass, who has a stellar track record when it comes to releasing details about upcoming phones in advance. In a series of tweets today (September 24), Blass shared images of both the Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G that appear to be the real deal.

If you've been following the rumors about either phone, there's not much to be surprised here: the Pixel 5 image shows a phone with minimal bezels, supporting the MotionSense feature that Google required the chunky top bezel on the Pixel 4 to It confirms that the company has ditched the sensor. It will also show that Google is using a punch-hole cutout for the Pixel 5's front camera, similar to the Pixel 4a released last month.

Flipping the Pixel 5 over reveals a large, blocky camera array in the upper left corner of the phone, which is not a major departure from Google's recent design preferences. There are two lenses there, confirming Google's insistence on two camera arrays (though rumors suggest that the Pixel 4's telephoto lens may be replaced with an ultra-wide angle sensor).

If there is a scoop in these Pixel 5 images, it is the phone's color. In addition to the black Pixel 5, Blass' photos include what appears to be a rather attractive mint green model. This new shade also appeared in a promotional image shared on Twitter by WinFuture's Roland Quandt.

We have, of course, seen leaked images of the Pixel 5 before, including a rendered image from just a few days ago. However, these new pictures are more detailed and showcase Google's upcoming release from more angles.

The same can be said for the leaked Pixel 4a 5G image tweeted by Blass; Blass' photo also matches leaked images of the Pixel 4a 5G that have appeared on UK retail sites over the past few days.

The Pixel 5 is expected to feature a 6-inch display with a refresh rate of 90 Hz; the Pixel 4a 5G will reportedly feature a larger 6.2-inch display, but with a more conventional 60 Hz refresh rate. Both models will run on the Snapdragon 765G and will offer 5G connectivity.

Google has already priced the Pixel 4a 5G at $499; the Pixel 5's price is unknown, but it is expected to be significantly cheaper than the $999 Apple and Samsung charge for their flagships.
