Google TV Leak and Giant Chromecast Reveal Final Design and Interface

A hands-on video of the new Google Chromecast with Google TV has been released ahead of the official launch of the next-generation streaming dongle next week

The new product is called Google Chromecast with Google TV, which we believe is the long-rumored Google Chromecast 4 Sabrina This device will be the successor to the Chromecast Ultra and is the first device in a long time to feature Android TV, which now appears to be called Google TV

The video, posted on Reddit by a user named jsterninja, briefly shows off the Chromecast box, and confirms much of what we saw in previous leaks, in that the Chromecast 4 will have a new oval design and a new remote control It pretty much confirms much of what we've seen in previous leaks in that it will have a new oval design and a new remote control

That's all well and good, but another Reddit user named fuzztub07 posted a photo of the new Chromecast out of the box, further confirming its design: the "Chromecast Voice Remote" has a navigation wheel and simple but neatly placed buttons, it looks quite neat

Speaking of simple, the box contains a remote control and dongle, plus a power adapter, cable, and a pair of AAA batteries Not much extra

More interestingly, however, a Redditor has released photos and video of the user interface, which further confirms that Android TV has been reworked into Google TV While there is not much to see here, it did show tabs for things like support for Disney Plus services, apps, movies, and a selection of curated content for users

We had heard rumors that built-in support for Google game streaming services would be included on the new Chromecasts, but there was no mention of Google Stadia There was, however, a section of games that could be played on the gamepad, but these did not appear to be Stadia games

Another photo showed that the new Chromecast has 44 GB of internal storage However, streaming devices do not need large amounts of storage

Android Police noted that the absence of the Chromecast 4 branding could mean a new generation of Chromecast devices that rely heavily on Google TV, since the Chromecast brand has been around for some time, it would not be surprising to see Google undertake a major overhaul

On September 30, when the Google Pixel 5 and Google Nest Speaker are officially announced, it will be clear what Google's plans are for the future of Chromecast
