Galaxy S21 Ultra battery specs leaked, but not good news
MyFixGuide found an entry within a Chinese 3C certification site for a battery with ID number EB-BG998ABY that is believed to be included in the Galaxy S21 Ultra
Most of the information is written in Chinese characters, but a capacity of 4855 mAh can be confirmed There are also the names of two companies: Samsung itself and Ningde Amperex, the latter of which appears to be Samsung's battery partner for the entire S21 series based on old leaked information
While it may seem smaller than the current Galaxy S20 Ultra's battery, that is partially true: the S20 Ultra's typical battery capacity is 5,000 mAh, but as you can see from the fine print on Samsung's spec page for the S20 series, the rated capacity (essentially the minimum Samsung guarantees) is 4,855 mAh
Regulators have recorded the rated capacity, which indicates that Samsung has not reduced the battery size of the S21 Ultra compared to the S20 Ultra But it is not getting bigger either The Galaxy S20 Ultra's battery life was very long, averaging 11 hours and 58 minutes with the screen set to 60 Hz This is long enough for the S20 Ultra to rank on our best smartphone battery life list
However, at 120 Hz, the Galaxy S20 Ultra lasted only 9 hours and 13 minutes, which is almost 3 hours shorter If Samsung uses the same adaptive display technology in the Galaxy S21 Ultra as in the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, the problem should be solved But larger capacities would also be welcome
Recently, it was rumored that Samsung might include a 65W charging block in the Galaxy S21 to fully charge this battery in record time However, leaker Ice Universe poured water on that bonfire by claiming that this charger is for Samsung laptops, not Samsung phones Presumably, this means that it will end up with a 25W or 45W charging option like Samsung has offered with the Galaxy S20 and Galaxy Note 20
What seems more certain is that the S21 series will use the new Samsung-designed Exynos chipset, the Exynos 1000 Otherwise, it will end up significantly underpowered compared to models with Qualcomm's equivalent chip, called the Snapdragon 875
Internal components aside, rumors point to a huge 180MP main camera on the back of the S21 Ultra and two telephoto cameras for more adaptive zoom and close-up performance The front will be quite different as well, as it may be the first Samsung phone with a selfie camera under the display instead of a notch or bezel
