The gameplay of the PS5 Spider-Man looks great, but not all fans are satisfied

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales is coming to PS5 this November, along with Sony's new console. And when it arrives, Spidey will look very different, at least in the remastered version of Marvel's Spider-Man: Remastered that will be included with the Ultimate Edition of Marvel's Spider-Man

Insomniac Games Community Director James Stevenson took to the official PlayStation Blog this week to discuss the nuances of the upcoming "Marvel's Spider-Man: Remastered". Changes include new features, a suit for Spidey, and a series of graphical upgrades.

But the one change that everyone is talking about is Peter Parker's face, which is a very big change. A new clip accompanying this change has been released, perfectly showcasing how different Parker looks from the original model.

The clip follows Peter as he goes to see his mentor Otto Octavius, who shows him his latest handiwork. This is the moment just before everything descends into chaos as Octavius congratulates Peter on his achievement of bringing his mechanical arm to life.

According to Stevenson, the Parker actor was recast. Previously, John Bubeniak kept the superhero alive in the original game. However, to "get a better match" with actor Yuri Lowenthal, the team cast Ben Jordan instead. Jordan has a distinctive look that is reminiscent of the current film version of Spider-Man, played by Tom Holland, and the difference between the two actors is quite dramatic.

Peter Parker's new look is not universally accepted online (what changes?). Even Brian Intiher, creative director of Insomniac Games, responded to the online uproar by tweeting, "It took me a while to get used to Peter's new look."

"Please know that we did not make this decision/change lightly, as we care about this character as much as your attachment to it," Intihar added.

Parker is the character who has undergone the most shocking changes. However, all characters, including Spider-Man himself, will include "higher fidelity" skin, eye, and tooth shaders, in addition to individually rendered hair bunches.

Marvel's Spider-Man will feature ray-traced reflections, ambient shadows, and even a revamped weather system to tie everything together. In addition, a wide variety of models and materials will be updated, right down to the characters themselves. In addition, a 60 fps frame rate will be achieved in performance mode, which should make for a more powerful game on the PS5.

Three new Spidey suits will also be added, including the Amazing Suit. The ability to place additional lights throughout the environment and change the suit after the shot should make the image useful for fans who want a change of scenery.

For those interested in trying out the remastered version of Marvel's Spider-Man, there is one important thing to remember: there is no standalone purchase option for Marvel's Spider-Man: Remastered. If you already own the game on your current PS4, there is no way to upgrade for free.

If you purchased Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales on PlayStation 4, you can upgrade to the PS5 version at no additional cost. At that time, a paid upgrade option is available to download Marvel's Spider-Man: Remastered. According to Sony, there are "no plans" to make the remastered version of the game available for anyone to purchase.
