PS5 has this killer feature Xbox Series X can't beat

Sony recently released a teardown video of the PS5, showing off the console and all the hardware that powers it in incredible detail

It's going to take quite a while to digest the information revealed in this video, but so far many key points have already been revealed, and as VG247 discovered, the PS5 hardware has a few key surprises

Wi-Fi 6 hardware is still quite expensive at present However, it is a good way to future-proof the current PS5 hardware, given that this current console is likely to last at least a few years In particular, the Xbox Series X still has the Wi-Fi 5 chip While this helps keep costs down, it provides none of the benefits of Wi-Fi 6 when upgrading a home network

Another thing to note is that the USB ports on the PS5 are quite fast The front USB-C port and the rear USB 30 port (blue ports) are SuperSpeed compliant and can provide speeds of up to 10 Gbps The front USB 20 port is only "HiSpeed" standard and is limited to 480 Mbps; the Xbox Series X has no USB-C port and the remaining USB 31 Type-A port is only 5 Gbps

Nevertheless, slower USB ports would not be a major issue; neither the PS5 nor the Xbox Series X can play games made for next-generation game consoles from USB storage However, backward-compatible Xbox games should work

Would these differences be significant to you? Unlikely, but it does mean that the PS5 is somewhat better hardware-wise At least, this is true for wireless and wired connectivity, and the more years that pass since its release date, the greater the advantage will be
