The color of the new OnePlus8T has just leaked, but there is some bad news

New leaked information on the OnePlus 8T shows off two color options, including a whole new shade. However, there is some bad news.

The "Lunar Silver" color option shown in a recent tweet from Ishan Agarwal has never been seen before. Meanwhile, promo images from Chinese retailer JD.com (via Slashleaks) show that while the display and battery have improved, the 8T may have stopped when it comes to chipset.

OnePlus has already shown off the aquamarine green 8T in a recent forum post; OnePlus has limited certain colors to specific markets, like the ultramarine blue of the OnePlus 8 Pro, so it is possible that more colors will be available.

As mentioned in the official teaser, Aquamarine Green is glossy, unlike the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro, which use matte-textured glass on the back. Agarwal believes that the silver option is still matte, giving a special differentiation between the two colors.

A retail listing for the 8T found on JD.com reveals some more renderings of the phone and some interesting spec details that contradict previous rumors.

The Chinese text mentions a 120Hz display and 65W fast charging that OnePlus is planning to introduce, but also mentions the Snapdragon 865 chipset. This is not consistent with what we previously heard from a large leak on Android Central.

Since OnePlus typically uses the "Plus" version of the latest Snapdragon 8 series chips in its "T" edition phones, we had expected the Snapdragon 865 Plus in the 8T. However, since chipset licensing varies by country, it is possible that the U.S. and U.K. versions will have the Snapdragon 865 Plus chip and the Chinese version will not.

Another image from this leak shows the 8T weighing 188 grams and measuring 8.4 mm in depth. These have been previously revealed by Onleaks, indicating that the size of the new device is between the original 8 and the 8 Pro in both dimensions and mass. [It appears to include the camera that the OnePlus 8 Pro has, which is similar in design to the rear camera module of the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE.

Since OnePlus' 8T launch event will take place on October 14, it won't take long to see which leaks are true and which are not. It is also possible that new earbuds from the company will appear in the form of the OnePlus Buds Z, in addition to the OnePlus Buds that appeared with the OnePlus Nord earlier this year.
