It is already hard to beat the Galaxy S20 FE's price of $699. However, Best Buy has pulled off the feat of reducing the price of the Galaxy S20 FE by $250 as part of its Prime Day Challenge promotion.

The $450 price has one condition: the Galaxy S20 FE must be purchased on one of the major carriers, Verizon, T-Mobile (including Sprint), or AT&T. However, with savings as large as these, the hurdles to clear are small.

The savings are reflected in the monthly bill: for 24 months, the Galaxy S20 FE can be purchased for $21 instead of the $28 to $30 that Verizon and T-Mobile normally charge; on AT&T, the deal is less attractive, saving $200 versus $250. But it is still a $16 payment over 30 months.

As noted in our review of the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE, this device offers all the power of the much more expensive Samsung Galaxy S20, S20 Plus and S20 Ultra, but at a fraction of the price. It has a gorgeous design with a multi-lens rear camera system that includes a telephoto shooter for impressive optical zoom shots and is available in six striking colors.

Choosing the Galaxy S20 FE sacrifices almost nothing compared to more expensive alternatives. You even get Samsung's impeccable 120Hz display. If there are any complaints, they are that the battery life could be a bit longer and the fingerprint sensor a bit less cumbersome to use, but overall they are relatively minor complaints for a device that ticks all the right boxes for the vast majority of users.

The Galaxy S20 FE will soon have significant competition from the iPhone 12 mini, which packs 5G support, the blazing speed of the A14 Bionic, and a rich OLED screen into an attractive $699 phone. But at $250 cheaper under the Best Buy promotion, this S20 FE deal will be hard to turn down for Samsung's mid-ranger.
