The iPhone 12 made its first appearance on television, and Apple's newest model looked more handsome than ever. [Good Morning America, specifically ABC's technology and consumer contributor Becky Worley, showed off two iPhone 12 devices, the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Pro, in the studio.

The video gives a clear idea of what Apple's new flat-side design looks like. It resembles the classic iPhone 4, but the color of the back is now reflected in the metal side rails, creating a more unified look on all sides.

The 6.1-inch iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro models unveiled by Worley come in two different blues: the iPhone 12 is plain "blue," while the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max are "Pacific Blue."

In addition to blue, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini come in black, white, red, and green. iPhone 12 Pro and Pro Max come in silver, graphite, and gold in addition to Pacific Blue.

The GMA segment also briefly mentions other design changes, including a Ceramic Shield display that promises four times more drop protection than glass on other smartphones.

Worley also shows off Apple's new MagSafe wallet, a line of accessories, and a 15W wireless charger that attaches neatly to the back of the new iPhone with magnets. The magnets not only help position and secure the accessories, but also provide a more convenient method of securing them than in the past.

GMA also played a short video interview with Worley and Kaiann Drance, Apple's VP of iPhone marketing, about the controversial decision not to include a charger or EarPods in the iPhone 12 box.

Drance defended the decision, stating that Apple believes the phones are a bargain even without the accessories, and further that people already own these and do not need more. This latter point is also connected to Apple's environmental goal of producing no unnecessary waste.

The iPhone 12 box includes a USB-C to Lightning cable. However, if you do not have an existing charger with a USB-C port like the one included with the iPhone 11 Pro or iPhone 11 Pro Max, you will need to purchase a new charger; a 20W USB-C charger costs $19 and a MagSafe charger is $39.

We can also look forward to 5G within the new A14 Bionic chipset, as well as software and hardware changes to the camera that will introduce a more effective 7-split lens on the main camera and new night mode time-lapse, selfie, and portrait modes. iPhone 12 Pro model will feature a particularly sophisticated triple rear camera array with a LiDAR sensor that improves autofocus.

The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro will be available on October 23, while the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max will be available on November 13.
