After months of speculation about the size of the iPhone 12 battery, we are finally starting to get some answers. And it appears it is not good news.

Clearly, the iPhone 12 has a smaller battery than the iPhone 11. And the iPhone 12 mini's battery is one of the smallest we've seen in a while.

This new information comes from a filing with ANATEL, Brazil's equivalent of the FCC (via Technoblog). iPhone 12's battery capacity is 2,815 mAh, different from the 3,110 mAh of the standard iPhone 11.

The iPhone 12 mini's battery is also confirmed to be even smaller at 2,227 mAh, which makes sense given that this 5.4-inch phone has a more compact design than the 6.1-inch iPhone 12.

According to Apple's own iPhone 12 technical specifications, 17 hours of video playback, 11 hours of streaming video playback, and up to 65 hours of audio playback. iPhone 11 has similar figures, but iPhone 12 supports an additional hour of streaming video playback The iPhone 12 supports an additional hour of streaming video playback.
