You can pre-order PS5 games now - but there's a catch

If you've already pre-ordered your PS5, you may be looking for games to play on Sony's next-generation game console, which will be released on November 12. Now, Sony has begun taking pre-orders for PS5 games on the PlayStation Store.

According to comicbook.com, PS5 games are now available for pre-order, at least in some parts of the world where the PS Store has been updated. We have yet to see an updated store on our end, so we may have to wait patiently until it is updated, wherever that may be.

However, this update will allow us to order games like "Spider-Man: Miles Morales", "Assassin's Creed Valhalla", and "Demon's Souls Remastered". However, there are few details on the file sizes of the games or the screenshots and videos that will accompany pre-orders, GamesRadar reported. This could either be because the update to the PS Store is still in its infancy, or because Sony needs to keep PS5 game footage under wraps.

Furthermore, there does not appear to be an option to pre-install games in preparation for when they are released on the PS5. Therefore, pre-orders are really only useful if one wants to have the peace of mind that one has secured a copy of these games. However, given the availability of digital downloads on the PS Store, it is unlikely that Sony will run out of game software.

Still, those lucky enough to get a PS5 during the big PS5 pre-order rush in September will be able to play some of the PS5 launch titles as soon as they set up their PS5.

Unfortunately, those living in the UK and Europe will have to wait until November 19, when Sony will release the PS5. We don't know why Sony would stagger the launch, especially when the Xbox Series X will be released worldwide on November 10.
