Amazon produces much of its own technology in-house, so when it recently announced that it would develop its own wireless earbuds, the Echo Buds, no one thought anything of it However, the results were not half bad Not perfect, but good nonetheless
Amazon was impressed enough with the reception of the Echo Buds that another iteration was on the way And the Echo Buds 2 should have some sort of wireless charging
We know this thanks to a document filed with the FCC by Anker, not Amazon itself The filing was for an unannounced Anker wireless charger, dubbed the "Anker Innovations PowerWave Pad for Amazon Echo Buds (2nd Gen with Wireless Charging)"
In other words, judging by the name alone, the Echo Buds 2 will be available And there should be a wireless charging case as well, a rectangular case like Samsung's Galaxy Buds Plus, if we can guess from Anker's diagram
The case will support wireless charging in a new shape, much nicer than the microUSB-powered case that came with the original Echo Buds released last year
That's as far as we can tell from this one document But now that we know that the Echo Buds 2 is out in the world, people will no doubt see all sorts of new information about Amazon's latest wireless earbuds Hopefully Amazon has fixed some of the issues people had with the first Echo Buds For example, they were a little uncomfortable and didn't put all their effort into smart gestures [And if Anker's Buds 2 charging pad has already passed the FCC, it won't be long before the Echo Buds 2 is available on Amazon
