Samsung Galaxy S21 can be combined by "Beyond the galaxy bud"

Earlier this year, Samsung launched the Galaxy Buds Live. This is a truly wireless set of earbuds that finally brings active noise-canceling technology to the Buds series. But what's next?

Samsung does not seem to be slowing down the development of wireless earphones so easily. The name of the product is "Buds Beyond.

The folks at GalaxyClub discovered that Samsung filed a new trademark with the EU Intellectual Property Office yesterday. Called "Buds Beyond," the trademark covers the exact same use case as the initial model of Galaxy Buds.

In other words, the filing only reveals the name and nothing else about this mysterious new Samsung earphone. So the question is, what is it?

The obvious answer would be that it is an updated version of the Galaxy Buds Plus, which was released along with the Galaxy S20 series in February 2020. It was essentially the same thing, although the battery life was greatly improved over the original Galaxy Buds and one-touch Spotify support was added.

That's not a bad thing, as the original Buds were great, but more hardware upgrades would have been nice.

Buds Beyond would be an ideal opportunity to add features like active noise cancellation to the existing design of the Galaxy Buds, as opposed to the pea-like design of the Buds Live.

As comfortable as we found the Buds Live to be in our review of the Galaxy Buds Live, this design is not as sealed as the in-ear designs of the Buds and Buds Plus. Therefore, Samsung would do well to offer in-ear buds with ANC as well.

Experience suggests that Samsung will launch the Buds Beyond with another phone. According to the latest rumors, Samsung's Galaxy S21 series is scheduled to launch in January, which would be an ideal time to announce another pair of Galaxy Buds. At the very least, Samsung will have another opportunity to give away Galaxy Buds as a pre-order bonus.

We will keep you posted on all things Buds Beyond in the coming weeks and months.
