Xbox Series X stock - Here's the latest update from Microsoft

Xbox boss Phil Spencer admitted that the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S are in serious short supply. And he regrets that it is very difficult to find retailers that stock Microsoft's next-generation consoles.

"We need more consoles," Spencer said during an appearance at Glitchcon, GameSpot reported.

"The number one request I get over and over again is that it's so hard to get consoles right now. I'm really sorry about that. We've been making them for almost two months now, and we're trying to get them on store shelves as much as we can, but the demand is just too high. ......."

. [At this point, it would be easier to put on a blindfold, tie your arms behind your back, and look for a needle in a haystack than to order an Xbox Series X or Series S. Microsoft's next-generation consoles sold out within hours of their November 10 launch.

And despite our best efforts, we could not find a retailer with either console in stock. However, our guide to where to buy the Xbox Series X tracks the latest information on inventory.

While the Xbox Series X and Series S are quite different from each other, they are both impressive game consoles, so it is not a huge surprise that the new consoles are low on inventory. When pre-orders for the consoles opened, they quickly sold out, indicating the high demand for the next generation of game consoles.

Some have argued that Microsoft may have foreseen this increase in Xbox production. However, the severity of the coronavirus pandemic likely caused problems on that front.

It also appears that this stock shortage problem is not Microsoft's alone, as Sony's PS5 has been similarly hard to find since its launch on November 12 (it is scheduled for release in the UK on November 19). To ensure that retailers have the best chance of securing Sony's next-generation console when they replenish their stock, we are again posting a guide to where to buy the PS5.

Liz Hamren, CVP of Gaming Experiences and Platforms at Microsoft, posted an update on Xbox Wire, noting that the company is working to offer more consoles to retailers.

"We know that not everyone has immediate access to the Xbox Series X/S, and we are working tirelessly with our partners around the world to bring the new console to as many people as possible over time.

We have not yet confirmed when it will be available, so please check Tom's Guide and keep an eye on select retailers. As with all big console launches, the PS5 and Xbox Series X will be readily available in the coming months.
