Nvidia RTX3060Ti's performance has just leaked and AMD should be worried

It is looking more and more likely that the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060 Ti will soon be available. And its slides reveal impressive gaming power.

This slide, spotted by VideoCardz, appears to be from a presentation that will form part of the launch of the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, which is supposed to be a lower-end card in the GeForce RTX 3000 series, but which will also be the older, higher-end Nvidia GPUs, showing how they will beat the Nvidia GPUs. The graph shows that it can outperform the very powerful previous generation graphics card, the GeForce RTX 2080 Super.

In a series of games including Red Dead Redemption 2, Watch Dogs Legion, Control, and Doom Eternal, the RTX 3060 Ti, when paired with a 10th generation Intel Core i9 processor, at 1440p resolution, RTX It easily beat the 2080 Super. It also outperformed its successor, the GeForce RTX 2060 Super.

These are all impressive numbers. We already know that the $499 Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 can beat the RTX 2080 Super and outperform the high-end GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. But for a card that is expected to cost under $400, the RTX 3060 Ti seems to offer a lot of bang for the buck.

The caveat here is that games at 1440p will definitely skew the benchmark in favor of the RTX 3060 Ti. So if the benchmark is run at 4K, there may be room for the older card to perform better. [However, high-end 4K gaming is the domain of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080, and the RTX 3070 is also a 1440p to 4K GPU. Therefore, we do not expect the RTX 3060 Ti to compete in 4K.

And performance in these benchmarks, especially in ray-tracing enabled games, is very promising; the RTX 3060 Ti and perhaps the less powerful RTX 3060 are mainstream graphics cards that offer great performance at 1440p and ray tracing at 60 fps could become a realistic goal for gaming PCs without high-end specs. [especially since AMD and its new Big Navi series have no competing Radeon RX 6000 series graphics cards in the $400 range. We expect that to change in 2021. But for now, the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti looks to be a killer mainstream graphics card for PC gamers on a limited budget.
