Killer Features Coming to Google Pixel 5 Old Phones — What You Need To Know

There are many advantages to owning a Google Pixel, even after a new model is released. Not only do you get the latest Android updates faster and longer, but you also get a slew of new features that no one else can get.

Now, as part of the December update, many of the Google Pixel 5 features will also be available for older Pixel phones. So if you have a Pixel 3 or later, you can play around with some cool features.

The main one is the Pixel 5's "Hold for Me" feature, which saves you from having to keep calling when you are put on hold for business. Available only in U.S. English for the time being, this means that Google Assistant will hold the call and notify you when the person is ready to speak. According to Google, this will save an average of 8 minutes per call.

Also coming is Extreme Battery Saver. This will stop unnecessary power drain when it is needed down to the last watt by limiting certain apps and running only essential functions. The video calling app Duo has also been enhanced with screen sharing and is now available for group calls only when using Wi-Fi or 5G.

But it's not just about older phones, as the Pixel 5 will also include further features. Adaptive Sound combines machine learning and 5G. It uses a combination of machine learning and the phone's microphone to detect where you are and what is happening around you. This ensures that your music will always sound great, regardless of what is happening nearby.

The Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a devices will also offer more accurate GPS when walking, as well as an adaptive battery and connectivity features. The adaptive battery will help keep the battery healthy by controlling how both devices charge, and will automatically conserve power when it is about to run out of time for another charge. Adaptive Connectivity also switches between 4G and 5G depending on the best network for the current activity.

You can read more on the Google blog, but either way, it's a great time to own a Pixel.
