If you're on the fence about Nvidia's current batch of RTX 30 GPUs, or if you can't find them in stock because of a shortage, you might be interested to know that Nvidia appears to have more models in the works
The news comes via the AIDA64 benchmark tool, which has been adept at surfacing unreleased GPUs in the past; an interesting list captured below by @Komachi_Ensaka on Twitter includes the RTX 3050 and the previously rumored RTX 3080 Ti, as well as a number of mobile laptop-oriented variants of existing RTX 30 hardware
For price-sensitive buyers, the RTX 3050 will be the real standout on this list; the RTX 30 series graphics cards currently start at $399 for the RTX 3060 Ti, so a cheaper family is certainly attractive Leaks indicate that it will be built around the GA107 chip, so a drop in performance is expected, but the general improvements found in the Ampere architecture will still give it a shot in most desktop setups
The RTX 3080 Ti, on the other hand, is at the opposite end of the market, built on Nvidia's GA102 chip and rumored to have 20GB of VRAM, making it a GPU for those who want big performance and have the budget to match Priced between the RTX 3080 ($699) and RTX 3090 ($1,499), it can be expected to compete with the Radeon RX 6900 XT in terms of performance [It is the RTX 3070 and 3060 Mobile chips with GA104M and GA106M GPUs, where M likely stands for "mobile," indicating a custom-built setup with likely lower core specifications than its desktop counterparts RTX 20 Series The best gaming notebooks with GPUs perform great, even with ray tracing
The desktop GPUs are strongly rumored to launch in January 2021, but no word on when the laptop version will see the light of day If you want Nvidia's new hardware, expect a hand-to-hand battle no matter when: the watchword for RTX 30 so far has been "in short supply," and that's likely to continue into the new year
