The biggest upgrade of Samsung Galaxy S21Ultra has been confirmed by FCC

There have been persistent rumors that the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra will support the S Pen stylus, and apparently there is hard evidence of this.

The phone's presence on the FCC's list (discovered by Android Police) is not only proof that the phone will debut in January as expected, but also evidence that the S21 Ultra's most talked about new feature is definitely real It is also proof that the S21 Ultra's most talked-about new feature is definitely real.

The list of Samsung devices with the codename "SMG998B" can check for themselves, but many of them are technical and of no interest to the average user. What we are looking at is one of many test reports that simply states that the device can be used with a stylus device (S-PEN).

The description also reveals that the S-Pen has a hover feature that allows users to control the phone without directly touching the display, as seen on the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra.

The rest of the report confirms many of the wireless features we have come to expect from flagship smartphones. These include ultra-wideband connectivity, NFC, wireless and reverse wireless charging, and the new WiFi 6E.

While it would be great to see the S Pen on the Galaxy S21 Ultra, this accessory will not be included in the box and appears to be optional. Also, while Samsung's case will likely offer a stylus slot, it is frustrating that there is no place to store the S Pen on the phone if one purchases an S Pen.

Samsung has said itself that it will bring the S Pen to more phones, albeit without elaborating on which models or when. Just a week or so ago, when TM Roh, president of Samsung Electronics, said that the company plans to bring the Galaxy Note feature to other phones.

However, Samsung also assured us that the Galaxy Note series will not go away. We were concerned that Samsung was going to kill off one of its most unique phones by giving its distinctive features to other models, but sources inside the company claim that there will be a 2021 Galaxy Note phone after all.

It won't be long now until the Galaxy S21 arrives. Leaks indicate that a launch event will take place on January 14, and the S21 Ultra should be the most exciting model, reportedly combining S Pen support with four rear cameras, including two telephoto lenses with 3x and 10x optical zoom.
