Xbox Series X could be even better thanks to Game Pass and Ubisoft+

For just $15 a month, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which gives you access to a huge library of games (some of which can be streamed), is already a great value. But now, thanks to a potential deal with Ubisoft, it's about to get even better.

According to Windows Central's Jez Corden, Microsoft is in talks to bring Ubisoft+ to join EA Play as part of its Xbox Game Pass subscription service.

Ubisoft+ (formerly Uplay+) is a $15/month subscription service that gives PC gamers access to over 100 Ubisoft games. Some of these games can be streamed through Google Stadia and Amazon Luna cloud gaming services. In other words, it is very similar to Game Pass, only it is dedicated to Ubisoft titles and the PC gaming community.

This would be a big win for Microsoft, since Game Pass Ultimate does not currently offer Ubisoft titles, and the deal involving Ubisoft+ is the same as the integration of EA Play and Game Pass, with the latter's subscriptions meaning that many EA titles could change that situation, just as it could mean access to [Presumably, Ubisoft+ will be available to PC gamers as well as Xbox gamers. That is, they can enjoy Ubisoft games, premium content, and cloud streaming on launch day as part of their existing game pass subscription.

The question, of course, is whether you'll have to pay extra for that; EA Play was incorporated into Game Pass Ultimate at no extra charge, and we don't know if Ubisoft+ will be either. In other words, it is likely that a subscription to Game Pass Ultimate will be required; EA Play is not included in the cheaper $10 Game Pass, and presumably Ubisoft+ will be the same.

This deal has not yet been confirmed, but Corden claims there is a "strong possibility" it is true. So we can expect an official announcement sooner rather than later.
