The Samsung Galaxy S21 launch is less than 10 days away, and given the leaks we've already seen, you would think there would be nothing left to tell about the upcoming phone. But hardware will only be part of the story that will be told at the Unpacked event on January 14 - there is also the matter of software features of Samsung's new phone.

We're now getting a pretty good idea of what to expect there, thanks to a new video from Jimmy Promo. That video introduces us to Samsung's One UI 3.1 interface and tells us about the features of that software heading to the Galaxy S21.

We already knew that S Pen support was planned for the Galaxy S21 - at least the 6.8-inch Ultra model - but the video of the features One UI 3.1 will support confirms it. The video shows that the S21 Ultra will offer S Pen features such as Air View and Air Command.

As we previously reported, there is no storage built into the phone like in the Galaxy Note line, so there is also a special case to hold the optional S Pen The S Pen itself has changed a bit, but the features you know are still there.

But the S21's software features include more than just S Pen compatibility. The video also shows how to continue using Galaxy S21 apps on other devices when using the same Samsung account. Like Apple's "Continuity" feature, you can open a photo for editing on your phone and use this feature to work on your tablet.

Another interesting feature One UI 3.1 introduces is a call background video that plays during incoming calls, ranging from colorful shapes to soothing designs. Dancing emojis can also be added to set a more sombre tone.

Emojis are cool, but perhaps none of the One UI 3.1 interfaces are as interesting as Director's View, which was to appear on the Galaxy S20. Director's View allows you to switch between different cameras on the S21 while taking pictures and when the screen is viewed as a viewfinder, it becomes a multi-camera view. Whether this would allow simultaneous recording from different shots is unknown, but still quite interesting.

Other features appearing in Galaxy S21 video include options for the video resolution displayed on the recording screen, the ability to select either Samsung Free or Google Discover as a feed, and an enabled focus enhancer for photos, portrait video feature, and more.

Of course, this is in addition to what has already been revealed about Samsung's Galaxy S21 plans: the Galaxy S21 Ultra is expected to feature a second telephoto lens in addition to the usual wide, ultrawide, and telephoto cameras. three S21 models are All will likely maintain the S20's 120 Hz refresh rate, but only the Ultra's display will be able to dynamically change refresh speeds.

Add in the Galaxy S21's size, battery capacity, price, and other specs, and you may have your own Unpacked event. That is, of course, if the new leaked information is to be believed. We will have to wait until January 14 for clarification and additional information.
