The move to mini-LEDs two years ago has borne fruit with the best sets of 2020, and this feature is now being adopted by existing manufacturers like LG and Samsung in their new sets.

TCL's third-generation mini-LED backlight will be redesigned in this year's TVs with OD Zero, a new design that eliminates the gap between the backlight and the LCD panel, allowing for slimmer LCD TV designs.

TCL has announced that all new 6-series Roku TVs for 2021 will be 8K sets.

The 85-inch 4-series model will not have fancy features like QLED or mini-LED, but it remains an excellent 4K TV with solid smart features and basic HDR support, if past models are any indication.

TCL's 4-series Roku TV 85S435 will be available this quarter for an MSRP of $1,599. This sounds a bit pricey for a line featuring 65-inch TVs under $500, but it is less expensive than the most affordable 85-inch models on the market.
