Binatone's MaskFone features a Bluetooth wireless earpiece and microphone built into a mask with pockets for disposable PM25 or medical-grade N95 filters at CES 2021, the company is also offering a removable audio projector and an upcoming MegaFone with "walkie-talkie" mode
The MaskFone was born out of the pandemic and is relevant even in the midst of the slow spread of the COVID-19 vaccine
"I think masks will definitely become more common in the first half of this year in the US," Marty Urick, vice president of Vinatone, told Tom's Guide 'If you're going to be on a plane or a subway in the next year or two, you're probably going to be wearing one of these'
He added, "We think there will be ongoing demand for years to come"

The MaskFone earphones offer 12 hours of battery life, an IPX5 waterproof rating, and background noise isolation The mask itself has an adjustable earloop and nosepiece, with discreet buttons on the outside to control volume and play/pause; three N95 or PM25 filters are included and are replaceable; and the mask has an adjustable earpiece and nosepiece
The masks come in two sizes (small/medium and medium/large) and are currently only available in black According to Urick, other colors may be coming soon, and the company is in talks with airlines about the possibility of manufacturing MaskFone on their palettes [MaskFone retail prices start at $4999 and are available now at maskfonecom and will be available at Amazon, Targetcom, and select Target stores by the end of January
