Sony Just Announced PS5 Replenishment — What to Do When Inventory Returns

The Sony Rewards store sold PS5 consoles last week. While all consoles have since sold out, other retailers have had PS5 consoles in stock, and it is possible that various retailers will soon have more in stock. (For the most up-to-date information, please see our PS5 Where to Buy Guide.)

There is also a possibility that the Sony Rewards store will be holding a restocking event for the PS5. If you haven't already, we encourage you to sign up for a Sony Rewards account; just sign in with the same email address as your PlayStation account to get started.

Some PlayStation fans are also debating on Twitter whether Target will see a healthy influx of PS5 units on January 19. The discussion has been lively, but all evidence points to a specific region, so a nationwide rollout is unlikely.

At this time, retailers have not made any definitive statements as to when we can expect a mass restocking. Fans are told that of all the retailers, Best Buy is the one most restrained about bots buying them up to list on eBay. Regardless, it would be a good idea to check out PS5's Where to Buy hub. The latest inventory is updated several times a day.
