Where to Buy PS4

Where to Buy PS4

Finding where to buy a PS4 is no easy task; while it is still easier to get than the PS5, getting a PS4 console at an affordable price is quite difficult. So you are not alone, because with the release of the PS5, the price of the PS4 should have dropped to the point where retailers are basically giving the PS4 away.

So where can you buy a PS4? Last I checked, there are still plenty of retailers offering the console either used or at prices far above its value. Thankfully, new consoles still exist and are being sold by retailers who are not in the business of price gouging.

Unfortunately, there is no telling how long that inventory will last. This is because retailers these days do not have a particularly healthy supply of inventory. Now that Sony Japan has decided to discontinue all but one PS4 model, we can't expect that to be easy in the near future.

If you are interested in where to buy a PS5, it is next to impossible to find one anywhere. For more information on how to beat the bots and buy an Xbox Series X, here's a guide: GameStop still sells the PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro, and they're ready to ship right now. And they are brand new and not more expensive than MSRP. Especially if you want to play 4K games but can't get a PS5, you should take advantage of their PS4 Pro inventory.

In other regions, however, supplies of both versions of the PS4 are rapidly dwindling. Best Buy and Sony have PS4 Slim in stock, but there is no telling how long that will remain the case. Similarly, Walmart and Amazon appear to have many consoles available, but they are all well above MSRP. Definitely avoid them.

Sony in Japan has confirmed that they are eyeing the PS5, which has been immensely popular since its launch late last year. To that end, the company announced that all but one PS4 Pro model and one PS4 Slim model will be discontinued.

It is not clear what will happen to consoles sold outside of Japan, but a similar announcement is likely. If you're happy with your 500GB PS4 Slim, that's great, but if you want something else, we suggest you start thinking about buying one soon.

Just remember, don't pay too much for a console, especially if it's used; the PS4 may go on sale, but there are still consoles out there that aren't as expensive as the PS5. Be patient and keep an eye out for deals.
