Another day, another Windows 10 update is causing problems. Two updates to be exact this time, Microsoft has confirmed (via BetaNews) that they are causing problems for users.

The specific updates are KB4598299 and KB4598301, both of which users have reported causing blue screen of death and various app crashes.

If you experience problems with your Windows machine after updating, check the version of your installed operating system. Versions 1909, 2004, and 20H2 are causing this latest issue.

Ironically, the update was supposed to address the .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8 issue, but instead another problem has occurred.

One of the most affected apps is Visual Studio, which obviously makes life difficult for developers. In fact, it was on the Visual Studio forum that Microsoft admitted that the update was causing problems, and a fix is expected soon.

Apparently the update has already been implemented internally and is being prepared for release. This is good news for those who have been affected by the crashes on a regular basis.

The constant barrage of Windows 10 update issues may seem counterproductive, but the only way to keep your machine up-to-date is to keep it up-to-date. In the meantime, if the problem gets out of hand, you can always uninstall the offending update in the Windows 10 Settings app; members of the Visual Studio forum have also outlined workarounds that you can try if you are confident

Sadly, the problems Windows 10 is not the only problem it has had recently. With each update, it seems like a new problem is piling up, ranging from minor issues to major problems that cause the PC to boot endlessly.
