Not only is this year's new iMac revealed and predicted to work on Apple silicon chips, but the new design and potentially some new diss

It's been several years since Apple properly refreshed the iMac, but its sleek and functional design seems to stand the test of time. But the iMac 2021 could change that by incorporating designs that are in line with 2021 technology, such as slim bezels and next-generation displays.

Unsurprisingly, Apple has been harshly criticized for its plans for iMac2021, but that doesn't stop rumors about the Cupertino all-in-one computer. So here's everything we know so far about iMac2021.

There is no release date for iMac2021. But enough leaks have seeped into it to give a good impression that the new iMac is coming this year. Apple previously revealed its new iMac around the summer, at the same time, or at least near Cupertino's Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC).

However, some predictions are that iMac 2021 will arrive this spring. The idea is that it took Apple months to sleep on the Apple M1 chip - more on that later - so the ramped-up M1 and more developers had time to adjust the app to work on the RISC-based architecture that underpins Apple's silicon chips. It was.

The second half is usually reserved for the new Macbook and next-generation iPhone (probably iPhone13), so we tend to suggest that iMac 2021 will arrive in the first half of the year.

Again, there's nothing specific to the base price of the iMac2021, but there's a risk of speculating that it will be tracked along with the price of the previous iMac. Apple will almost certainly use its own in-house chip to power iMac2021, so it won't have to pay Intel to use its core processors, so it can keep production costs down.

Given that the 21.5-inch iMac will start atド1,099 and the 27-inch model will start atン1,799, the same is expected with iMac2021, probably a bit cheaper at the bottom end, but if Apple takes advantage of something like next-generation PCIe4.0SSD storage, the price will rise as capacity increases. It can rise quite sharply.

Of course, the price depends on the type of display technology that comes with iMac2021. At the moment, the iMac uses an IPS LCD display with resolutions above 5K. With True Tone tech and nano-texture glass used in the very expensive Pro Display XDR, the iMac2020's display is very impressive, but quite expensive and limited to the 27-inch version.

It's possible that Apple will bring a full 5K Retina display to a smaller iMac, with several upgrades possible, including color improvements and True Tone improvements. Or, according to some rumors, Apple can opt for a mini LED display with iMac2021.

For beginners, mini LED displays consist of thousands to thousands of small LEDs used to form the backlight of the display panel. This can produce a display that provides better contrast and effectively better color reproduction over a normal LCD panel. Given that the mini LED display isn't prolific, such technology is prohibitively expensive and could probably come back for the new iMac Pro, but you never know.

The current iMac design has been with us for quite a decade. It's not a bad thing given that the iMac is an example of Apple's excellent industrial design, but it's a bit outdated now.

The all-in-one computer display bezel and large chin certainly age it. That's why there are rumors suggesting that it will use a design that is close to the Pro Display XDR look. Or you could have a more quirky design with an integrated keyboard, as we've seen in some concepts.

We would be inclined to put our money on previous predictions. We've seen how other all-in-one computers like Microsoft Surface Studio2 integrate hardware into the computer stand. So you wouldn't be surprised to see iMac2021 doing the same thing. This could cause a device that looks like a pro Display XDR to have just a thick stand and back.

What we would expect to see for sure is the slim display bezel, especially the iMac 21.5-inch, and thanks to trimming the bezel, we could see the screen space expand to 23 inches without increasing the footprint.

Given Apple's recent work on Face ID integrating iPhone and Touch ID into iPad Air's power button, I'd like to see some of that technology appear in iMac2021. Biometric login, facilitated by a webcam or a power button with touch ID, will help you feel and use iMac2021 a little more seamless.

Apple Silicon started out as just a rumor, but swelled to one of the biggest successes of the past year, becoming a suite of new Mac machines utilizing the Apple M1 chip.

M1 not only runs the entire suite of macOS apps as well as third-party apps, but also showed that it could surpass some of Intel's best laptop processors. And it was from Apple's first attempt at a modern in-house design chipset. In 2021, the Apple Silicon initiative is set to move from strength to strength.

And that drive this year is set to be led by iMac2021. As seen on the Mac mini M1, it's not yet clear whether it will feature a boosted M1 chip or an all-new custom ARM-based chip.

A recent leak suggests that iMac2021 may come with Cupertino's first desktop-class Apple silicon chip.It could be called the a14T, and its chip is tipped to be paired with a custom Apple GPU that can be integrated into the same chipset as the main processor or held as a separate graphics accelerator.

In any case, the first Mac machine with the M1 chip is very impressive and threw the gauntlet to Intel when it comes to laptop-grade processors so Apple can come up with a desktop chip that pulls the same trick twice and throws Intel's best core processors.

The M1 chip does not support external Gpus, which is a shame for those who want to do a bit of gaming or heavy video rendering work on modern Mac machines. We want Apple to regain support for eGPU in iMac2021 or find a way to deliver the power of a serious pixel push with its own silicon.

Everything we have discussed so far is based on rumors, our own guesses, and some wishful thinking. But I'm reasonably sure that iMac2021 is in progress.

We really want to bring a new design, not just the transition to Apple's silicon chipset. There are a few seriously impressive computers out there this year, so I hope Apple will pull the ace out of its sleeve at iMac2021.
